We (Ed and Kate Nichols) have owned and run Hillcrest Park since March 2011. We started with three cottages and a few touring pitches, but over time we have gradually expanded and we now have five holiday cottages, 20 touring pitches and 10 glamping pods.
We are located right on the border of North Yorkshire and County Durham between Richmond and Barnard Castle in one of the northernmost of the Dales, Teesdale, with the North Pennines Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) on our doorstep.
The area is something of a hidden gem, offering much to see and do close by - take a look at our Local Attractions page.
We are also within easy reach of the North Yorkshire Moors, The Lake District, Yorkshire Dales and North Yorkshire coast. We surrounded by farmland and blessed with beautiful views over Teesdale and are just a short walk from the River Tees and the Teesdale Way.
As dog lovers ourselves, we think it is important that all the family enjoy their holiday together so all of our accommodation is dog friendly, and we have a large field on site in which you can let your dog (and the kids!) run around.
We have a small shop onsite selling the basics; milk, eggs, bread, local produce as well as a few camping essentials, in case you forget anything.
Our communal campers' kitchen has kettles, toasters, microwaves, hotplates, sink and fridge as well as a basic supply of cutlery, crockery, pots and pans - again, just in case you left something crucial behind!
So, whether you want the comforts of a cottage, somewhere to bring your own caravan or fancy giving glamping a try we aim to offer all our guests a peaceful setting and a warm welcome.
Hillcrest Park is our home as well as our business, so we are usually around if you need any help, but are happy to let you enjoy your holiday in peace.
As this is a family-run site, we prefer to keep things informal. However, as a guide for our guests we have produced the following basic Site Rules by which we would appreciate you abide.
Thank you for your cooperation, Ed and KateDownload the site rules, site plan and directions
